Still miss you, Jerry.

August 9th, 2007

In the attics of my life
Full of cloudy dreams unreal
Full of tastes no tongue can know
And lights no eye can see
When there was no ear to hear
You sang to me

I have spent my life
Seeking all that’s still unsung
Bent my ear to hear the tune
And closed my eyes to see
When there were no strings to play
You played to me

In the book of love’s own dream
Where all the print is blood
Where all the pages are my days
And all my lights grow old
When I had no wings to fly
You flew to me

You
flew
to me

In the secret space of dreams
Where I dreaming lay amazed
When the secrets all are told
And the petals all unfold
When there was no dream of mine
You dreamed of me

Gawd! It’s been all about Jerry lately, crazy! I miss him so much it aches, it was all over for me the day he died. I tried, went to see Bob and Rob play, but it wasn’t the same. Oh well……..

Thanks so much for the post!

Memorieeeeeeees! I recently found an old polaroid of you, me and the evil one who shall not be named sitting outside the Omni. I’d post it here if I wasn’t wearing a Church of Unlimited Devotion dress the size of a house.
Love you! We’ll be making more memories soon!

Love the words accompanied with the picture of Jerry Garcia…..could you please let me know the name of the song, if that is in fact where the poetry is from? They’re beautiful….thanks for the post.

Ever since I left San Francisco, seven years ago and moved to Fort Lauderdale, instead of feeling Jerry in every corner of th city, I find him in the ocean, I say this becasue I miss him so much and when I cant handle it, the ocean reminds me of him. Coming here has been a “culture shock” anot in a bad way, just different, but I miss the easiness of finding new friends. So reading your blogs made me feel part of a group of friends that could understand the ache of missing Jerry. Sometimes is a whisper and sometimes is thunder. Thanks for sharing.

Dang. I was at the very last Dead show at Soldier Field and what a long strange trip it has been from there. I sure do miss the shows and always look back on those times with such fond memories. Life was simpler back then. The world has changed so much since then and I sorely miss my trips with the dancing bears.
