Like a woman possessed

May 29th, 2007

Or obsessed…….
Since the weather broke, all I want to do is be outside.
Mostly I sit squat with my coffee and watch the garden grow.
It’s pretty interesting.

So I tend to take my camera out with me. That of course leads to some borderline OCD behavior with the flickr.
I even created a new garden group, We Grow Food! (so if you do, join, why don’t you?)
That teeters on my other obsession about obsessing about (meta obsession!) my relationship with food, specifically food as a consumer product. Money for food, Growing food and eating food. (humm, I never realized what a funny word food is until I just typed it out six times… Say it 50 times slowly, then try to tell me otherwise.)
Food, we all use it.

Apparently, it is also a good distraction. Keeping me otherwise not focused on the things I need to do.
(Speaking of that, I have yet to update the sidebar with the reciprocal links I spoke of in my epic the other day. I will get to it! I swear!)

Now, I must get back to my garden squatting, before I miss something.

I am happy to hear that I am not the only one who takes her camera to the garden. I like seeing how things chage day to day.

I want to have enough time to grow my own food:-(
The only thing that saves me is that I’m part of a CSA. Tons of fresh organic veggies every week starting in three weeks!!! Yipee!
I love the shot of the balding dandelion.

I do love a garden! I started 3 new ones last fall by dumping all my bunny stuff from under the hutches on the grass I don’t want to dig up. By May, all that stuff is pretty composted without me doing anything other than moving it there. So today, I pulled the weeds out of it, covered it with a layer of newspaper, then dumped a thin layer of Moo Dirt on top to pretty it up and hold the newspaper in place. Tomorrow I will plant. The only part I didn’t accomplish was making the beds all raised. Oh well. The veggies will still taste good and look so darn purty growing out there.

I wish I was more obsessed with my garden. I’m sad to say it sits mostly as dirt. At least it’s mostly without weeds xoxo
