I believe in miracles!
My friend has her juice back on!!!
(I know I keep referring to her, not by her name, but as “my friend”… go here to read why.)
I am so stunned by all you beautiful people!
The good thoughts, the positive energy, the green energy you all sent, really made a difference.
I can’t even begin to express what a difference you all made.
I don’t know who you all are, but you do. You all deserve the world.
Thank you all for hearing me! Words can not express what you have done.
Something very miraculous happened. More than I could have ever known when I got her permission to do this.
You are the beautiful people!
Thank you!!!
You have changed the world!
XO!

That’s wonderful news.

It’s wonderful, and it’s a privilege to be a little drop in that bucket. Further to your LiveJournal post, the thing that is often overlooked when buying food for food shelves is PROTEIN. People tend to buy a lot, lot, lot of pasta and cereal. But a jar of peanut butter or a can of tuna or a bag of brown rice and cans of beans or lentils (and veggies) are so much more needed by the hungry than a constant diet of pasta or sugary cereals. That’s my little soapbox speech of the day. Much love.

That’s great news. I’m glad I could help. I remember what it was like to be really poor, the sinking feeling in my gut, the feeling that I was totally screwed. Your friend is really lucky to have you in her life. Hugs.

Wow! I wish I had been able to help. I was in the hospital (again) last weekend, and *our* juice was turned off while I was in there. We had to get a loan from a friend. Don’t you love friends? When we are better off, we plan on giving back what we can.

So glad to hear your friend is getting back on her feet! That is such a wonderful thing you did for her. You should hold your head high and give yourself a huge hug, because generosity is few and fleeting in this world today.

I’m late to the party, and just saw this. But oh did it bring back memories: my hubby and I spent one year way back when living on $600/month in grad school, with a baby, and it was an infinitely valuable experience in learning humility and compassion. I’m so glad your friend’s got her power back on!

I’m so glad she has her power back on! I read your LJ entry, and you’ve motivated me to do just what you said - pick something healthy and nutritious every time I go into a store, and at the end of every week, drop it at a soup kitchen. Money’s tight here, but we’ve never been poor, and I have to keep remembering that. Thank you for reminding me of that.
