Sometimes, if I have the time and I'm desperate, I will drive 10 miles to Stop & Shop just so I can put them in one of the carts that has a fire engine on the front, because then they'll sit in their seats for most of the trip and they can't reach the food on the shelves. And now I've got that Fun Lovin' Criminals song about Scooby Snacks going through my head. . . I think I’d rather not eat (which, frankly wouldn’t be a tragedy) than be forced to grocery shop with the kids. On the rare occasion that the husband goes too, he takes his own cart, goes his own way and buys all the same stuff I do. Planning? Not so much.
