Yay! I'm not the ONLY one who doesn't have the current books! I, too, always seem to have other, more pressing things to purchase. My birthday treat to myself this year was the Yarn Harlot's last book (Knitting Rules). Who knows when I'll get the current one??? :-)

I'm with you on the grocery store/ alone time, too.

I hear you about going to the grocery store alone. I go over the budget and hire a babysitter once a week to get to the store alone in the summer! The money I save on groceries without them pays for the sitter! I am glad you met Brigette. She is so great- it is hard to visit her and not buy something though! I hope to join you at knit night in the city one night soon! Heather

Good morning Ms.Pip! We were discussing you at KS Knit Nite last week in regards to Eliz Zimmerman's "Nether Garments" and POOF... in you walked the very next day! Wow! I can't tell ya how excited I was to finally meet you! Sorry to have made you blush, but indeed you have had 'ROCK STAR' status in my book for quite some time-- even without the pink hair!
Thanks for joining our little group last night and THANKS A GAZILLION for the fiber treats!! Woooo hooooo!! Spinning on my days off!
I'll email ya about the dying gig and lets talk about doing a knit-a-long with the long john's this summer!

You ARE a rock star! ;o) Good for you for (finally) getting yourself a book - and sock books are not frivolous. Bite yer tongue ;op

Dobby hasn't been allowed to go shopping with me in years. Although, now she has her own $$ and works at a grocery story so guess what? At least one bag of junk per night she works. NOT good. RR comes shopping with me and buys what he wants but then...he's paying for it so it's all good ;o)

I decided to not start my own seeds this year and will be purchasing well-developed seedlings at the farmers market in about a month...ohcrap I only have a month left to get the garden ready! I haven't touched it in two years! *panic*

I think I'd rather not eat (which, frankly wouldn't be a tragedy) than be forced to grocery shop with the kids. Sometimes, if I have the time and I'm desperate, I will drive 10 miles to Stop & Shop just so I can put them in one of the carts that has a fire engine on the front, because then they'll sit in their seats for most of the trip and they can't reach the food on the shelves.

And now I've got that Fun Lovin' Criminals song about Scooby Snacks going through my head. . .

Glad you treated yourself! I don't like going to the grocery store with the my husband and kids. Things happen to get thrown int the carriage while I'm not looking and mostly it's my husband and not my kids doing the throwing!

I adore going to the grocery store alone. When I take even one of the boys they see ALL the crap that I ignore. Love how "they" put the spider man cereal at eye level for 4-6 year olds. On the rare occasion that the husband goes too, he takes his own cart, goes his own way and buys all the same stuff I do. Planning? Not so much. And you are a rockstar- do NOT let anybody tell you different.
