Killing for peace is like F*ucking for Virginity

March 19th, 2007

1,461 days too long
Over 60,000 civilian lives lost

It’s time for this greedy bullshit to end.

(An aside, when I was looking for an image this morning, a google image search for “war is harmful to children and other living things” yeilded a photo of my kids :-0)

And I couldn’t agree more, too. On that note, have you seen this flickr photo:

    Kind of the same sentiment.

It was time for this bullshit to end 4 years ago. I’m sure you agree.
And I’m a bit disturbed that your kids came up in that google search. I want them to come up in happy pretty searches.

Oh, and thanks for the b-day wishes!

Amen, sister. If you haven’t seen it already, get yourself a copy of the Dixie Chicks’ Shut Up & Sing DVD. Good stuff there.

Amen, sister. And I don’t say that word lightly. That image is beautiful and sad, as are so many of John Lennon’s ideas and words. It’s hard to believe it this f-cked up world, but we still need to believe that peace is possible.

Please don’t be offended that I laughed long and hard over that title. The sentiment behind it is so not funny and so dead on (sad little pun intended), but the absurdity of f*cking for virginity is too rich to not provoke giggles galore. Rest assured, though, that I am as outraged as you about the killing. How this country allowed this situation to happen still stuns me.

So true, so true. I’m not a very outgoing person, and not someone who tries to force my opinions on others, but I’ve been seeing more and more small, impromptu, roadside protests lately, and have been thinking long and hard about joining in. Maybe it’s time I get over my fears and do it.

Thanks for the compliments on the floor and the footies! I LOVE THE FOOTIES! I am totally making myself another pair! I have never spun my own yarn for any particular project, but I think another pair of footies are in order and will be a good project for me to finally try it!

Love. love, love the title. How more ironic can this nation get?! The colors of the jellybeans in the previous post would make a great yarn for a summer tank!!!!
