I'll be glad to see some of your picture experiments - we are looking for a new camera, and I would far rather go with a model that other people like :). And that's a pretty good looking WIP-kebob! Belated congratulations on the book - I bet it will be a big job, but also a fun and rewarding one. I'll be looking forward to updates on that.

Every time I read a weather report with snow and grayness and stuff, I feel a little guilty for complaining about it being too hot here. It's been 100° here, with mostly clear blue skies, and a bit of humidity, and we've been running the air conditioners for the last week or so.

I love the photos. I've been pondering about a digital SLR to go with all the lenses I already have. The real impediment is that every time I'm ready to start shopping seriously the company comes out with a new and better model and I get caught up again, for the Nth time, waiting for the price to drop and for the bugs to get ironed out and so on.

Meanwhile, I've got a nice little digital point-n-push I like, so I never get panicky about having to have the new one.. I'm missing that fine desperate yearning that driven me into so many purchases in the past, including at least half my stash.

I'll watch your example carefully;I have a feeling the yearning is starting to grow, like it's pushed up through the ground and unfurled a set of tiny leaves. When it's a vine covering the whole house I'm in trouble. That sounds more like kudzu than like a rational process, doesn't it?
