Chop wood carry water

December 29th, 2006

I’m my worst enemy, It’s true. I have oodles of excuses for myself, all the time.. I’m pretty great at them actually. “The kids are sick”, “I’m sick”, “It’s a crappy day for photos”
All of the above hold true today. But, as hard as I may wish, no one is going to come and do the details for me.
No one is going to come wash my dishes… No little elves are going to update my site. No one but me can take care of the kids, Santa is NOT coming to stock the fridge. And short of winning the lottery, no one is going to make it so Matt doesn’t have to work 14 hours a day, 6 (sometimes 7) days a week.
We can all have wishes, tho.
I finally sucked it up and got the site updated. I’m pretty mad at myself for being so lazy.
My arms didn’t fall off from winding my hanks.. (In fact, once I got going, it went pretty quick.)
The house didn’t fall down around me (tho, it IS very messy.)
No one died, no one was hurt, the world didn’t end because I finally got off my tookas and did something.
So, what is the big deal?
I’m not sure…

So, yes…the shop has been updated!

7 colorways of handpainted sock yarn!
Including NEW sport weights.

You can view everything in the shop using this link or you can see everything that is new .

So, yes, the world did not end… I don’t know why I am the master of procrastination.
I suppose I should tend to the dishes and the kidletts, as they all have (not so) patiently waited for me.

I don’t have kids, so I can’t figure out a good excuse for them… but I have one for my dishes.

I can’t do my dishes when I am dyeing fiber cause it is toxic and I don’t want it near clean dishes!!! How is that? And I have the same problem, but I punish myself - like no more fiber dyeing until I do the dishes and they dry (no dishwasher). That prompts me to rise up and go do them so they will dry. Especially if new fiber arrives at the house or I get new dye… and I want to play!
Kids, well, hmmm, you can’t spin any yarn until all their needs are met? Well hell, forget that - you would be yarnless. Ummmm…. you can only spin a hank of yarn if one of your kids smiles at you?
If you are lucky, your house will be filled with yarn.

Keep your head up girl, the holidays are over in my book. New Years will find me resting on my backside, spinning yarn and reading a good book. That is my big high falutin’ plans. And I can’t wait!
I am going to get ice cream (the fat girl’s bubbly) and toilet paper (cause, well, I am tired of using napkins from the kitchen) and look forward to a Bad Ass Weekend.
    Happy New Year.
    Holly

Aw man! Now what the hell am I going to use as an excuse or justification for MY procrastination? Hrmmm? I’ve been able to say, “Well, at least I know there’s one other person who understands…”

..well, you still understand, though, right?

The imaginary elves were over at my house, but they weren’t cleaning or doing work. They were misbehaving and when I returned from work, they had made a mess of the laundry, dirtied the dishes, feasted on the food in refridgerator, and pulled out 12 rows in each of my knitting projects. They are grounded. I will send them back to your place when they have learned their lesson. Until then, it sounds like you’re a lot better off. By the way, beautiful yarn. At some point, I will have to indulge.

Being the master of procrastination is at least a title. You get to be the master of something :) Imaginary elves. I’ve been searching for those myself. Tho, not very hard. haha.

I’m glad you were able to update. That “chop wood, carry water” is killing me.

Gorgeous colorways! You have such a gift with the dyepots, darling!

My little one doesn’t think Santa is coming back, but still figures she can talk us into a gift at least a day…we look like we’re running a daycare!
