some knitting, some spinning and coffee oh my!
i’ve had some ideas brewing the past few days; and i really got sucked into it.

i took this here yarn (you may recall these batts?)
and swatched..

5 sts/8r 2 inches
(yes, a smallish swatch; but i wasn’t concerned with gauge, i was more concerned with feltability.)

it felted well enough, but the beauty of that small single really got lost.
i had planned on using that pink yarn with this

(that was my
gingham roving ~i bet you are sorry now that you didn’t snatch it up. haha.)
anyway. back to the drawing board with that time suck. (there actually isn’t a drawing board, or even a list on some scrap paper for that matter… and i wonder why i’m always so scattered!)
i do have some plans for those two yarns. yes, yes i do.

something else i’m working on…. just a peek; since it is going to be a gift; and although, i’m pretty sure the giftee doesn’t read this here blog; i’d like to be on the safe side.

that is some bulky 2 ply hemp yarn that i made this winter, that never got put up in the shop for whatever reason.

the heat was pretty intense yesterday. so once M got home from work, we proposed going swimming. (at the same lil’ swimmin hole that bells nearly drowned at on monday) we were both shocked and amazed that she was up for it and excited! she is amazing that gurl of mine.
when we were on our way out the door, i noticed a package in our mud room.
i had matt grab it since my arms were choc-fulla-babies. i started the car and we headed out; while driving down the street, i had him open it up for me… (because, of course, my hands were at 10 and 2, lol.) anyway my eyes welled up with tears when out came

now, boogie sends packages here frequently.. (i AM the luckiest gal on the planet!) and she mentioned something the other day about sending out a box to me; so i really thought nothing of it.
i must have totally looked past the word “fragile” (hum! it must be italian!) written in red all over the box.

i was so taken by emotion! i had just been mentioning over on Dee Anne’s blog; how much i was (and had been for a while now.) coveting one. this was so over the top generous of amy, as the maine fiber frolic is coming up, and i know her mug stock is WAY LOW! if you can’t make it to the frolic to drool over her stuffs; you can check them out right here. (she has bunnies, alpacas, and even cats!)

i hung it here last night, with the rest of the clean dishes in the house

(yes, note, there is only one pan, one lid and one clean spatula..i am not a fan of washing dishes.)

i was able to start my 35 year on this planet off in freaking grand style!
this thing is HUGE! i’ve often thought it odd that amy would say she was over caffeinated on two cups of coffee.
good lawd! two cups of coffee in this mug is a POT of coffee… no freaking wonder!
here it is in it’s natural habitat this morning…..

that is an 8+ ounce ball of yarn sitting next to it…
