new hampshire soggy and wet
as if you haven’t heard enough about the soggy that was NHS&W? (from here on out nhs&w will = new hampshire soggy & wet. ~ it would be funny if, people weren’t being flooded out of their homes. with only more rain to come.) i’m about to add a few more pennies to the pile. (since i added two cents the minute we got home, this makes it possibly a nickel…)
to spite the rain, the lakes masquerading as harmless puddles, cold temperatures, (everything seems colder in the rain! but i hear it was only in the 40’s) the scary drive both hither and yon; i had a wonderful experience.
those of you who read this here blog, know that:
1. i hardly ever leave the house area any more.
2. i’ve been pretty sick as of late
3.i was going with the lone intention of spending time with boogie
i really had no intention of buying a single thing. but, for some reason, the chant angora, angora, angora kept running in my brain. it was so loud i could not ignore it… (occasionally i can ignore said voices in my head, lol). so, boogie pointed me in the direction of the woolybuns booth
where i got a few ounces of very lush angora, and got to make the acquaintance of fellow vermonster norma. (funny, since i’m such a big lurker over on norma’s everyone’s blogs)
anyway!

that bag in the foreground there, is my sweet angora. i have been petting it since i got it.
& all of that undyed yarny goodness there comes from my yarn dealer supplier. i see some tired arms in my future.
anyway, with 4 bizillion things to do, i’ve busted into the angora already.
i made these two batts

ramie
faux cashmere
tinkle
angora
silk sari
hemp
a close up, because they are really tinkly and pretty.

i’m going to resist the urge to spin them and tend to the other pressing matters that need to get done!
i’m wickedly bummed that i couldn’t have done more than a quick cruise of the pot luck lunch huddle. (although, baby-daddy made it into a picture i’ve spyed in blogland, lol) there were a few folx that i would have loved to meet. (but, alas, i am painfully shy, and didn’t introduce myself to anyone.) i did get to meet the lovely mafia and her sweet baby, who has the most stunning eyes evah! and at long last skeintily clad.
it was duck and cover most of the day. in the sheep barn, we saw the most creative entrant for the junior class. a sheep sheered like poodle! the young girl was wearing a beautiful felt skirt that she had made herself! that is where i had the pleasure of meeting linda for a few seconds. totally not long enough!
i would say we spent 50% of our time with the animals. (and 40% of our time at dimitri’s pizza who has the ugilest [on the inside] woman working there. she stared me down for the last 15 minutes we were there, and made me feel like i haven’t felt in a long time. people like her make me remember that there actually are roughly 30% of the population who support the evil dictator resident dubba. who don’t believe in the things i hold dear, and who are just down right not nice.)
speaking of the animals, bells touched a dog! for those of you unawares, bells is as afraid of dogs as i am of some people (re: pizza lady). leaps and bounds for her! they really enjoyed the animals, and it was fun to see bells interact with boogie’s eldest. they got on rather well, and don’t believe a word boogie says about her eldest being ill behaved, she was an angel!! (haha! i jest, because i do know the many facets of child behavior!)
if you saw

this head of hair (terrible roots!!) attached to shivering lips; that was me.
i suppose i should have posted a pic before the event, so in case you wanted to hide from me, you could have.
wow! i’m just full of some words today!
how about survivor last night? i’m so happy aras won. yes, yes i am.
now to get on with my stuff that needs to be done.
♥

Well, I saw you walking by. I wish you had come over and said hello and had something to eat - we had loads of food! Next time maybe you won’t be shy.

ooh, your hairs are soooo pretty. it sounds like a lot of fun to have gone to that faire.
I’ve been meaning to ask — what do you think about custom orders? Do you prefer to work to your own creativity, or do you like to do some custom stuff sometimes?

Aw shucks. Little Man is blushing right now.
So lovely to meet you too, and next time it’ll be better weather and we’ll have more time to chat. If Baby-Daddy was your male sidekick, he’s pinchy-cheek cute. And your babies with the curls and chilly cheeks - totally edible sweetness.

Aha! That was you. I too suck at introducing myself, and for some reason “knowing” someone through blog only makes me feel more akward about it at times. You were brave to bring the family - I know my little dude would not have lasted as long as I would have “needed” him to to get all my loot-purchases done.
