FINALLY!!

August 22nd, 2005

i updated pippi!

i was going to put together a collage type deal, but i am unable to understand gimp.
ha!
so instead, i’ll show you one of the compositions that i forgot to put on the sneek peek. (yes! there were 7 or so yarns that i totally forgot i had until late in the evening last night. that is what i get for having this unruly amount of yarn!)

ok!gotta run, stuff is starting to sell.

trying to get back in the swing of things….

August 18th, 2005

i *think* i’m back.
with some borrowed funds and a few clicks, i have a new machine.
yay!
life as i know it can return to normal.
it is hard being without a computer for an internet addict like myself.

being in non-updatey mode for so long, i find it hard to get back on track.
right now i’m in the process of counting 20 some odd pounds of yarn

then come photos, and writing the files.
i hope to have pippi updated by monday at the latest. (my children aren’t letting me get many good photos done.)

the weather is simply beautiful, when i woke up it was in the low 50’s. perfect!
i wish it was like this all year ’round!

fare thee well

it is hard to fathom that it has been 10 years.
such a long long time to be gone, and a short time to be there
things just haven’t been the same in these parts without you.

~i wonder if there are any blog rings for dead-head knitters. there has to be more than i’ve come across.now, onto the knit!
finished! & mailed!

electric jinky

the next time i see these, perhaps they will be on my book shelf.
i guess i should get working on the other sizes for the pattern
they have consumed alot of my time the past few days, i did do a bit of stress relief spinning

the diana shop

i think it will make for some good scrumbiling.

since the electric jinky socks made it into the mail yesterday, i was able to do a bit of work on my pinwheel blanket.

it is looking pretty blob like.
it is only about 24 inches across. the thought of getting another 150 or so odd stitches on there makes my eyes want to bleed. (or at least my fingers.) i think i’ll spin 2 more bobbins up for it, then call it a day. i’m still undecided on how i want to do the finishing on it. any thoughts from those of you who have gone before me? points perhaps, so it would almost look like a pinwheel? or no points; seed stitch and M1s?

with our impending move, the fact that i’m the most disorganized person on the planet, is staring me in the face.
yesterday, i was looking for hard copies of some addresses. holy crap! i’m quite glad that i save about 80% of those little click and ship recipients, but LAWD! i need a filing cabinet or something perhaps a database and a fireplace.

i’m totally amazed that i was actually able to find what i was looking for!

i realize i’m being incredibly long winded today. but the computer situation has gone from awful to terrible, to unbearable.
i’m trekking to best buy on friday, to pick up a new OS. i’ve never used linux, but it is worth a shot. tin cans and string would work better than this thing is. for every ten minutes of connectivity, there is at least an hour or two without. blah!

knitting under pressure

August 3rd, 2005
i will never win any awards for speed knitting, so, lilly chin you can stop watching your back, ROFLMAO!
but, gimme a few sticks and some string, i can make a nifty, functional garment, that also may or may not be attractive.
knitting with a deadline is actually slowing me down i think. the ‘pressure’ is causing me to focus on the outcome rather than getting zen with it. i’ve never had a knit deadline, well besides the holiday gifts, but anyone who is worthy enough to get something i knit, knows me well enough to realize that they won’t be getting it “on time” anyhow.
the less i focus on the outcome, which is you know, these being published, the better off i am.
onto the craft!
i took this yarn

you might remember it from way back yonder and have started to turn it into

~socks~
when i slow down enough, i’m enjoying the color play.

i had grand plans of updating pippi this week, but the best laid plans, and all of that.
it is just so dang humid out, nothing is drying, so, nothing will get photographed anytime soon.
speaking of the dreaded weather, it is back to the too hot to breathe. it really isn’t the heat, it is the humidity.
in case you were wondering, this is, apparently what humidity and deadlines make me look like

now, back to my socks, i’m getting ready to start the heel.
wish me luck on avoiding ‘SSS’
